Good mood

Just to appologise for being in a bad mood yesterday, if you'd noticed. I'm in a much better mood today, although it's only 10:11, so I have pleanty of time to swing. Especially as nothing seems to be happening this morning, so I'm going to do some work now. But at least there are some funny bits in my book. Like a school of medieval escatological thought called Muggletonism! How cool is that?! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to work that into my dissertation though... Ooh, and in other news, I now have holes in my ears! All the better to hear you with etc. And I saw Narnia last night, which was cool-for-cats. Especially Phillip. For lovers of Narnia worldwide, there is also the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=zLElfJ9YCh0 which you've probably seen before, and if you haven't, it's time you begun. Erm, I guess thats it for now. If you want to go here http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/handset/SelectHandset.do?menu=y&ref=allphoneslink and tell me what upgrade to get, I'd thank you with some kind of Christmas gift. Otherwise, I'm off to read more about the roots of Joachimism! Score!

Finally!

At last I've mannaged to get a picture of me on my blog to prove that I have a face etc! It's been very traumatic though, so I won't be doing it often. Not that I have anything better to do though, because my freinds are all too lame to want to do stuff over the holidays... Posted by Picasa

Update

As promised, here is an update. It's not very big though. After a successful day of buying ALL my Christmas presents, I now have nothing to do. Following my policy of non-initiation, nothing seems to be happening this evening, and I'm bored. Maybe I'll do some work...

Fish-fingers

Well, now I'm at home and I can finnaly switch my mind off for a while. Yesterday I visited my grandparents, which was super fun. But I did get to meet my cousin, which was cool (he has a roboraptor, it was very exciting!) and Sam came too, and I got to see his lip-ring (which looked a lot better on him than I expected). We also witnessed a drug-deal on the way home, and I didn't feel too good on account of eating too much, so I saw x-factor results and went to bed when we got back. Today we went to church, which was nice, and then we had roast beef! The excitement continues this afternoon as I have to clean out my fish and this evening we're going to the carrol serivive at church. I have a new policy this year of not constantly harrassing my friends to go out, as I have a shed-load of work to do. Consequently, I suspect this will be a very un-eventful christmas holiday as no one else is capable of initiating fun (a challenge, if any of you ever read this!), but I'll let you know how well I stick to that... Anyway, my fish becon (not litterally as captain Birdseye stole their fingers).

Books

It's the end of term! Hurray! I can finally have a day off, but not for a while, because I still have loads to do. On wednesday I recovered from my grrrrsomeness with alcohol and The Nightmare Before Christmas, which was awesome-super-splendid. Then on thursday I read for my presentation on the train, played with some genuine medieval documents for magic and medicine, which was fantastic, and I got quite excited. Then in the evening Hannah and Bob-bob the Bob abandoned me, so I went out with my cell and we watched the Dead Poets Society and ate too much and had mulled wine. Then I wrote my presentation in bed, which seemed ok, despite the odds. Today I went to the pub with my class and my tutors and started drinking before lunch. Unfortunately I left before anyone was drunk, but I did get some money from the university, 10 REALLY heavy books (which I still have to carry home. I shouldn't've worn boots today...) and some paper. Ooh, and this is the third day in a row I've forgotten to eat lunch! How amazing am I?! Ooh, and we're back onto purple! Well exciting! Anyway, this afternoon I have to tidy my room (which could take quite some time) and pack, which should keep my mind off the fact that I'll be all alone... And then tomorrow I'm going to see my grandparents. Hurray.

Stress

It's been an intense few days here. I'm so stressed that my knee's hurt, but also quite excited. My brain's confused and I'm all twitchy, and its not good. Being the last week of term, I have multiple christmas parties, but also evil deadlines, so my brain doesn't know whether to be happy or sad. On Monday, for example, I did a horrible evil essay all day, but then went out for Robyn's birthday which was fantastic! And then I was doing essay all morning yesterday, but I spent the whole afternoon getting ready to go out, and the CT christmas social was fantastic! I ate so much I nearly died, but then They played Bon Jovi for me, so we had to dance lots. I got home quite early, at about 1.30, but then I couldn't sleep til at least 3.30 (on account of coffee, hormones and the giant hoover) and I weirdly woke up at 7.30, which wasn't nice. Then I had to do the bibliography and references for my essay, and it all went horribly wrong from there. I don't want to think about it any more, but events included my printer not working, my disc corrupting, having to run back home to make another copy, and run back before the deadline. Unfortunately I still have to so my presentation on friday, even though the article I need doesn't exist, so i can't even relax now. I think I need a lot of alcohol... Anyway, I'm sure you don't care about that. I'm going to go and hit my head against a brick wall now. Roll on Christmas!

Short

Today we read the following in our class on the Second Crusade:
"William Viel, yet breathing out threatenings and piratical slaughter, and his brother Ralph and almost all the men of Southampton and Hastings..." (Conquest of Lisbon, trans. Wendell David)
...which I think means that people in Southampton and Hastings are sometimes pirates, which seems to me a good thing. Hurray for pirates! Conquest of Lisbon also says, as an aside, "Who, indeed, would deny that the Scots are barbarians?" which we all had a good laugh at. Ooh, and if anyone has an article by Edgington on 'The Lisbon Letter', can you email it to me? Writing my presentation is going to be super hard without that... Anyway, this is going to be a super short post because I need to go get some lunch because I'm hungry. See you later!

Waffle

As is generally the case by this end of term, I have neither anything to say, nor and time in which to say it. This leaves us with the dilemma of what to say on my blog today... I should probably give up and not put anything, but I really want to get through these manky colours before Christms. Since friday, the internet has been out of action, so no msn (nooooooooooo!), but fortunately i was busy doing work (supposedly) for my essay the whole time anyway. I've now written said essay, and it took me a lot longer that it should've, concluding (finally) at c.1am this morning. Hurray! Other exciting things this week include shopping yesterday (I got a sparkley hand bag and the best sandwich in the world again), Student Group (the last one EVER!!! Noooooooooo!), and my laundry. As you can doubtless tell, it's been a whirlwind rollercoster of thrills and spills. And sarcasm. Actually, the paper told me at the weekend that there are multiple (possibly 5?) different tones for sarcasm in Japanese. The perfect language! And so on that note I must draw this entry to a close. If you've been as bored by my week as me, please write to tell me! I can reply between reading books on the history of religion... xxx

Ill

I correct myself, these are the REALLY manky colours. But fortunately this is apporopriate, as I'm currently ill. Now when was the last time I posted..? Loads of stuff should've happened since my last entry. Im not sure what, though. I don't think I did anything productive at the weekend, which was silly of me. Then on monday I WENT TO FAITHLESS!!! Which was AMAZING!!! The best thing since sliced bread/condoms. I can't believe it was only 2 hours, I feel like I've been cheated out of 90 min of my life, but it was definitely worth it. Plus my leg warmers were amazing (untill they got all muddy. I've washed them not, though) and I got to see Fern and her crew. Unfortunately it was cold and I wasn't wearing very much. Then we went to Tesco. Then I went home, which was super weird, but I couldn't sleep because my fish were too loud and my room was cold and my bed smelt of cigarrettes. Bleurgh! Then I saw my parents very briefly, but they didnt like my legwarmers or my beautiful shoes, which just proves that parent's oppinions don't count. Grrr... Ooh, this is actually a really nice colour! It's a shame I'm about to change it... Anyway, I bought officially the world's best sandwich on the way back (Marks and Spencer's Christmas sandwich with turkey, bacon and stuffing. Expencive, but worth every penny. Has to be tasted to be believed!) But unfortunately after I got back from student group on tuesday evening I felt ill, and on wednesday morning I was ill, and I've been recovering since. Hopefully the sandwich wasn't to blame, because I feel an addiction coming on, and I can't afford to give up work for 2 days everytime I eat a sandwich. And so I've been incapacitated for the last few days, unable to work, get to London or, alas, blog. But not I'm back, and the colours are getting progressively worse. I have a feeling they'll improve next time though. Ooh, I just got an email from my tutor summoning me. I'll call it a day for the time being, but I shall be back. Stay un-ill (it does NOT get my seal of approval). xxx
