Being at work all day means you don't get so much time to do other stuff, like see your fiance, and then by the time you've caught up with that its time to get some badly needed sleep, and you've used up your whole day with not-Blogging.

But enough of my excuses! Although we don't seem to get up to much these days, the good news is that lots of stuff is finally getting sorted out. Dave and I now have venues for the wedding and reception, free balloons from Hallmark (woohoo!), a caterer, a florist, a wedding car (Rolls silver wraith, if you're interested) and, most importantly, A WEDDING DRESS! Whoo! I can't give any details incase dave sneakily reads this, but suffice to say it's all so lovely! It's not long til the wedding (!) though, so you'll be able to see it in real life soon! Wedding dress shopping was awesomely fun, and I think Dave was a bit put out that he didn't get to join in. Ooh, and also, Dave's writting an interactive online wedding gift list! Should be very cool once its running properly. Links will be added in the wedding invitations so that you can play with it properly. No obligation to spend money though!

Its weird though how it feel like uni never even happened in a way. Its so strange being at home with most people here all the time and some people still at uni or moved away. Its like before uni started, after 6th form, but with everyone having moved on and gained independance. Rhys obviously has his friends from work to keep him entertained, Rich & Amelia have eachother and pleanty of plans to occupy themselves with, I have Dave and vice versa, and Chris has glandular fever. Ed's moved to Nottingham, Becky's moved to France and Sarah's in Indonnesia somewhere. Uni folk are so far away and difficult to keep in touch with. And for those of us still around, during the day we're all at work, or sitting at home being ill, so we don't get out too much nowdays. What a bunch of loosers... I miss the freedom of our little flat, getting up when we like, going to the Red Lion whenever we like, hardly any classes to take up our time... But I have to admit that seeing Dave every day is a big bonus. And next year at least we'll have the independance of our own flat! Whoo!

Erm, what else have I been up to? I failed my driving theory yesterday, which was lame. If anyone reading this had to do the hazard perception test, please give me some advice - I really didn't know what I was doing, which didnt help much. But I got 34/35 in the theory part of the test, which made me feel a bit better. Actually it's weird, I think this is the first test I've failed (except getting into Oxford, but I don't think that really counts. I concider that a good thing, in retrospect). But at least re-sits are easy!

Also, my criminal record check finally came through on wednesday! I am now actually doing the job they employed me to do, which is excellent! I was starting to get pretty bored of processing books, shelving and opening boxes. I get my own key to the library and Im allowed to talk to the students and everything! Yesterday I was in charge of the whole of downstairs by my self for 45 min, which was exciting. The whole place is pretty neglected though, and really disorganised. Because it isn't part of the main college site no one bothers to repair things, and we end up solving everyones IT problems because there isnt a help office onsite. Its a bit daunting really.

Last weekend Dave and I went to Exeter to meet up with Dave's friends from uni for the first time since he left. A few of them are still there because they're doing 4 year courses or an MA. The rest of us slept on their floors, which was handy. we did lots of pubs, a curry house and a jazz bar, which was really cool. Unfortunately I didnt feel well on saturday, but we got to the church which dave used to go to whilst at uni on the sunday, which was good, had weatherspoons breakfast, and watched the 1st 3 episodes of the 2nd season of How I met Your Mother, which were brilliant. Im so relieved about Lilly and Marshal! I was actually quite upset before! I am so bad...

And just about the only other thing I haven't told everyone about yet is that I'm going into hospital on thursday to get my gall bladder taken out. Should be fun! At least I get 10 days off work to watch season 7 of Buffy and make wedding invitations and work out what I was actually supposed to be doing in my hazard percepton test. And I've sneakily booked a driving lesson on the friday I have sick leave on, so I hope I'll be feeling better by then and that no one from work spots me! (If you're reading this and work with me, please let me know how I can purchace your silence.)

I guess that's pretty much it, then. Hopefully I'll post something a bit sooner next time, and news will include me planning the flowers, sending wedding invites, getting on fine with no gall bladder, publishing the gift list, going to the opticians and purchasing a notice of marriage! I hope if anyone's reading this that you're well and everythings working out well with what you're doing. Also my appologies if I emailed you and you have noticed how this is almost exactly the same. I kind of cheated a bit...

Uni pics

Here are some pictures (finally!) from uni!

<img style="margin: 0px 10px 10px 0px; Woohoo! You should all know that by now, but it's still so exciting! I can't wait to get married! Hurray!

Dave and I went on holiday to Malta last week. It was so lovely, really hot, and loads of things to do. We saw 5 neolithic temples, one of which was underground and was 1000 years older than the pyramids in Egypt. We also saw early Christian catacombs and some cathedrals, including one with a clock showing the wrong time to confuse the devil. We visited the Medieval town of Mdina, the citadel of Victoria Rabbat in Gozo, and Valletta by night, which was lovely.

Because it was so hot, we also did lots of swimming in the sea, in some lovely rocky coves and some beaches. We took a little boat trip to a place called 'blue grotto', where the sun reflected off the bottom of the sea making the water this electric blue, and there was pink coral. It was really lovely. And we found a cafe that made iced coffees with icecream that were gorgeous! While on Gozo we also went for a drive along the coast and saw lots of salt-pans, but the road suddenly turned into a rocky track and we had to turn around.

On the last sunday, it was our six month anniversary so we went on a day cruse from Silema to Gozo in a lovely wooden boat. We went swimming, had a lovely lunch, and went to Comino on the way back, a small island, population 2, where we went swmming in the blue lagoon, which was absolutely beautiful. There was even an icecream boat! Then in the evening we went to a sunset at 'Golden Bay', which was very romantic, and I shall remember it forever... Dave proposed! It was so lovely!!! Ahhhhhhhhhh! I'm so happy!!!

In other news, we visited Dave's dad in Manchester, which was good. He has a very cute dog called Dexter, and we had a day looking round Manchester, including the cathedral, Urbis and Primark. Also, I got my results break-down, and I was 1.2% off a first, which is slightly annoying, although I know I couldn't've done any better, and I didn't really deserve a first.

Also, I have my first driving lesson in a couple of hours! Scary! Having put it off so long, it's even more horrible now. I'm told it'll be fine though, but we'll see... And I'm looking for a job, which is even more horrible because a) I don't want one, b) theres nothing good in Dorset and c) Dave's very distracting. So we'll see how that goes, too! Graduation next week, which should be fun! And then nothing but driving and job-hunting til Soul Survivor!

But I'm so excited! I can't wait to get married! Sorry I had to leave this a couple of days to post, Dave has some friends he wanted to tell in person, so I had to leave out the relly exciting bits. And it is SOOOOOOO exciting! Mostly rushing around like a lunatic, which was fun. The weekend before last I caught a bus to Exeter from Poole for the evening to see Dave, which was lovely. Then I left for Egham the next day, and the whole trip actually cost less than going direct by train! Hurray! And I got to see my lovely lovely boyfriend too, which was a super bonus.

Then I managed to use up a whole week with shopping, reading the Da Vinci Code (I thought I ought to...), meeting Jenna for lunch, writing my CV etc. Then Dave came to see me because he finished his degree too (hurray!), and we went to the summer ball, which was very good. There was lots of live music and exciting cocktails, and chocolate fountains, and Rachael Stevens (who was a bit pants). Dave and Robyn and I survived til 6am, and got the breakfast, which was delicious, composed almost entirely of fat.

Then on Sunday we went to church and packed a bit, but my gall stones made me ill again, so we couldn't go out for dinner :-( Fortunately I was better this morning, so we cleaned the flat and gave our keys back. It was so sad to leave uni, I really don't want to move back home! I loved our yellow kitchen, being able to stay up til stupid times at night, having the freedom to never clean, watching neighbours during the day, and the pub being only 5 min away! Stupid no money stopping me from moving out... But on the plus side, when I do move out, I'll be with Dave every day! Woohoo!

Well, that's the entirity of today's musings. If you're a Dorsetian too, let me know when I can meet up with you some time, it should be cool!

All over!

OK, just a quickie. Im home again at the moment, but I'm back to Exeter for the evening on friday, then back at uni on the saturday to do some pre-leaving FOREVER activities. As for the last couple of weeks since I last posted, I've coped surprisingly well since Jude died, although my parents have been really upset. I guess its easier because I've been away for so long I wasn't used to him being aroung all the time anyway. But I do keep having dreams about him, which is quite sad.

Other than that, I'VE FINISHED MY DEGREE!!! Haven't got drunk once - go me! Went to Oceana on friday night and didn't have any alcohol at all, it was a great night! Also been in Exeter to see my gorgeous boyfrind for about 5 days, which was lovely. Went for a few walks in the rain, got some amazingamazing bargain books (£15 reduced to £2!!!) and a talk on the Da Vinci Code at Belmont, which was really good, among other things. Errr... packed lots on thursday and moved everything back here on saturday. Room looks like a crazy jumble-sale, but I still have til friday to unpack.

Anyway, so I still have the summer ball to look forward to, and handing back the keys to our lovely flat :-( I'll miss our yellow kitchen, and being away from home! But now I'll go and find out whats going on in my house this evening, so I'll say good bye. I've been at uni since January now, not having left for longer than 3 days in a row, and starting to go a bit crazy with all the work I have to do, and missing Dave lots and lots. But I did go home twice over the holiday, which was nice, although brief, and I have at least done some work.

For example, I FINISHED MY DISSERTATION TODAY! It took ages to print, but now its all nicely bound, and handed in. It feels like a big chunk of my life's missing, and my degree's finished, so I don't have to do any work. Which is nice, but not very helpful, as I still have exams I've hardly done any revision for. But nevery mind, I'm sure it'll all work out in the end. In my experience, these things usually do...

In other news, I went to the hospital last week, and they told me I have gall stones! How exciting! Im glad they told me why I'm so ill, but it's not nice thinking about big lumps of yuck floating around inside you. At least now I know, and it's quite easy to fix, with minimum being sliced open, etc.

Other than that, I'm now officially three quarters of the way through the assessment for my degree, which hardly makes it seem important that I still have 2 exams to do. I just keep thinking about all the fun things I get to do over the summer! Plus finding a job, which absolutely terrifies me... Ahhhhhh! Well, thats something for me to think about another day. For the time being, I shall content myself with being scared of my exams.

Take care, everybody, xxx

No Chocolate

Well, once again, it's been a very long time since I've blogged, but I don't think anyone ever read this anyway, so I'm not that bothered really. If you are reading this, good on you! Here's what I've been up to since I remember last posting...

Well, I've had a super-lot of work to do. Mannaged to get my research essay and other work things done on time though, which was relief. Didn't see Dave for 2 weeks because I had so much to do, which was not good. Instead I got up at bout 8 every morning, read all day, went to bed at about 11, where I continued to read until I fell asleep. It ws NOT pleasant. Although I did go to the pub for an hour at one point, and saw two episodes of 'Bewitched' which counted as break.

To celibrate the end of my work, I drnk lots of wine and sherry with Hannah #1 last wednesday, which wsa very, very fun, and then my history class went to the pub on friday, which was an excellent idea. But even better, I went home on friday afternoon, and I got to see Dave again! It was a really nice weekend, I saw my family a lot, had dinner with Dave's mum and her husband, and went for some nice walks in the spring sunshine, hurray! Also met up with Becky, Rhys, Amelia, Rich and Chris, which was good too. I can't wait til I'm finished at uni properly!

Hmmm, the 'a' key isn't working properly. Never mind, I'll just keep jabbing it...

Well, that's pretty much it for me. I'm going to try to get to london tomorrow to use the libraries, and on thursday I have to go to Slough to see the stupid hopital people. Grrr... But appart from that, all I have plnned is loads and loads of reading during the day, and Buffy-watching during the evenings. Don't be surprised if I don't blog for a while, I'm super-busy, but then I don't think anybody's actully reading this anyway...

xxx

Thought for the day

Thought for the day:

Unfortunately I dont have a thought every day on account of my degree, but when I do, I will be sure to tell you. For example, I had the following thoughts...

9th November 2005 - Coats with fur linings should have wider sleves (you know it's true. Stupid coats. And stupid oversized arms... But at least Im not cold any more! Woohoo!)

10th November - All library staff should be a little bit ignorant, and not fine me when I hand in my books late.

11th November - I'm less hungry than I was, which is good. So overall life if good, which is good.

14th November - Oh my goodness I'm cold. Brain frozen. No space for other thoughts...

15th November - I seem to be angry today. Maybe it's because I haven't been shopping since saturday. But I suspect it could be something else altogether...

23rd November - Christmas is a work of evil and should be banned. Although I wouldn't want to be confused with a puritan, so someone else should ban it for me.

25th November - This time next month it'll be Christmas! That means I'll already be full of food, and hopefully alcohol. Hurray! And don't forget the real meaning of Christmas - making yourself feel ill.

7th December - Maybe eating custard from the carton randomly during the morning wasn't the greatest idea in the history of ideas (and custard), but it was fun. Like a koala.

8th December - I'm actually sitting here without any thoughts in my head. Actually. This hardly ever happens. Hmmm. Well, I guess thats that, then...

9th December - Volunteering to do a presentation when you have a 5000 word assessed essay due in that you haven't started is not wise, especially when the article its supposed to be based on isn't online or in the library.

12 December - Im fluctuating between being very scared and very excited about this week. Wish me luck with the essay that's due in on wednesday, and which I haven't started...

14th December - GGGGGGGGGGGGGGRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRRR...

16th December - I seriously don't know how I'm going to get all these books home. Maybe I'll take a photo later to prove how many I have.

18th December - It's nice to be home as it's very tranquil in comparison to uni. I just hope I don't get bored...

20th December - Dorset sucks. Why are all my friends squares?

23rd December - Life's too short to get angry with people. Besides, it's nearly Christmas! Maybe I'll go get some mince pies. And an early morning sherry.

24th January 2006! - Oh, I've been so bad at this blog thing... but I've been super busy! And I take back every bad thing I've said. I'm amazingly happy! Please exploit my good mood!

31st January - I discovered yesterday that I can either be happy or peaceful (physically, not spiritually), but not both at the same time. I think I'd rather be happy than peaceful though, so that's ok. But my thought for today was I am SOOOOO looking forward to the end of my degree! Word's simply cannot express how much I'm looking forward to the end of this ordeal. But anyway, off to work again...

10th February - Just a quick one because I'm so busy, but my thought for today is HOW EXCITING??! because next week is going to be excellently amazing! I'm going valentines ahopping this afternoon, and I can barely contain myself! Ooh, being in love's the best!

17th February - That was one awesome nearly a week. Valentines day, Camden, History Society dinner... Thank you Dave!

10th March - Ooh, it's been 3 weeks since I last left a message! maybe that's why I had so much to put in my last post? Todays thoughts are: 'Chocolate', 'squibble' and 'sleepy.' Enjoy!

Need sleep...

I haven't blogged for AGES (again!) - sorry! And as its been so long, I can't really remember what I've been doing. Ermmm... Well, things that I can remember include visiting dave two weekends. I bought some shoes that destroyed my feet but are beautiful (see episode 2 of the IT crowd. "the shoesah!"); went to church a couple of times; went to the youth cafe thing where we learned about the antichrist (very handily to do with my dissertation, which was good); saw dj yoda, which was less good than expected, although he did mix george bush saying "we must stop the terror", so it was definitely worth going; went to some jazz and had REALLY good cocktails, which was very enjoyable indeed; and drank a lot of tea. Hurray!

Besides being in Exeter, I've done rather a lot of work this week. On tuesday went to the student house group at the chaplains house, which was about sects (not sex) and I learned that Mormons believe that if they're very good, after they die they get to be the god of their own planet with hundereds of god-wives, and J Ws believe Jesus is a demi-god, but God is a super-god, which was all very entertaining. I think that's right, anyway. Sorry if I'm wrong about this, and let me know what they really believe! Then I was up til 2.30am on wednesday morning writting my essay, got up again at 8am to finish it, which was stressful, but now I'm 50% through the assessment for my degree! Hurray!!! Then I came into campus to print the essay out and get some books for my presentation. In the afternoon and evening I did all my reading for and wrote my presentation, so I get to sleep at 1am on thursday morning. I got up at 8 again and did my source annalysis before going into london for my class.

I got in nice and early to submit my essay, but the departmental office was closed, so I had to waste an hour in ucl library. My seminar was pretty good tho. We discussed whether werewolves are still people, or wolves, or a hybrid. We also looked at pictures of women with beards, a boy who was half ox, and people with faces on their stomachs. And I think it was the first time I've ever heared someone talk about vampires in a class. After that I annoyingly had to take my essay in, by which point there was a thunderstorm going on, and I was foolishly wearing my beautiful furry shoes, which filled with water. When I got to Waterloo, lightning had apparently struck the signal box at vaxhaul, so all the signals were down and I didnt get home til 6.15. So I got a pizza before I went to my cell group, both of which were much more fun than the rest of my day. Then I made a handout for my presentation and got to bed before midnight! Hurray!

And now it's today. I had to get up at 8 again to go to my class, but I dont intend to do any work now, and I might finally get some sleep! Ooh, that was actually quite long! Sorry its mostly all moany though. Im not that annoyed, I just thought the thunderstorm and other bad events were a bit of a coincidence on one day. I'm not going to see dave this weekend as we both have so much work to do, which is very sad :-( This weekend Im writing an essay on "Is the writing of Odo of Deuil of any real value in assessing the aims and progress of the expeditions of Loius and Conrad?" which will be super fantastic.

Well, thats just about it for the last 2ish weeks. Sorry if you're Becky, (actually, re-reading this it seems like I just showed my comiserations to Becky for just being her, which wasn't what i meant. It was pretty funny, though...) because I just blatantly cut and pasted what I just emailed to you because I'm lazy and I want to go home.

Anyway, I need a nap now, so I'll bid you adieu. Hope my (elite) readership are all well and happy.

xxx

History bunnies

As I haven't blogged in so long, I feel slightly bad and obliged to blog now, even though I am running the risk of missing neighbours... although it is on later, too. anyway, it's been a pretty exciting week, and I haven't written anything for so long there's loads I haven't mentioned yet. Although I'm pretty sure I already said that Dave and I are getting along amazingly well, except when we're appart, when I miss him horribly. Fortunately I've seen him every week since the begining of term so far, so I don't have to cope too long. Last weekend he came to visit me, and we cooked 80 pieces of chicken which we bought for £1 (!!!), went to visit Becky in Reading, which was very cool, went to a school disco, which was brilliantly fun, and went to church, which was really good too. Then he had to leave on monday, which was extra sad because I didnt get to see him for a whole week, during which I did some work for my dissertation and little else. Ooh, hannah and I drank a bottle of wine, that was fun. But I can't really remember much else.

Anyway, Dave went home at the weekend, and he was supposed to come to visit me on sunday evening, but his car annoyingly broke down, so he couldn't come til monday. This now means he's carless, as he can't get insured on 'my' car. But the good news is that he was visiting me! We went out for dinner on tuesday for Valentines day, which was very romantic, and I got a rose and Dave stole a balloon. On wednesday we went to Camden so that I could show him cyberdog (which was apparently quite exciting) and the 4-poster bed I want. I also tried on a corset, which was brilliant but stupidly expensive, and I bought a shawl thing, which is really nice. we cooked fajitas in the evening, which were very yummy, but I couldn't eat many. Then on thursday we tried to go for a walk, but it rained. In the evening it was the history society dinner, which was really good. We got all dressed up and pretty, and the meal was really nice, featuring some 'game chips' or frisps soaked in gravy... sadly the polar bears weren't there, but we did have a large quantity of alcohol (me in particular), and the guest speaker was reasonably entertaining, and talked about 'history bunnies' at some length.

Unfortunately today is friday, and I had to say goodbye to Dave. I wont get to see him for a whole week now, and I'm starting to pine... But on the plus side I got away without doing any reading for my class, and I'm going to meet Sarah in Richmond tomorrow for some interesting seminars, although I don't actually know when... I don't really have anything left to write about, as this has been an exceptionally long entry. Go me! Computers are down til monday, so that's the earliest you're likely to hear from me. Until then, don't work too much, everybody! I certainly shall not... xxx

The end is near!

Well, I'm absolutely terrified now. Hannah said the the provisional date for out group 3 exam is may 8th, and UCL have their exams during my easter holiday, so goodness knows when I'm going to do all my work! Theoretically I'm on campus to finish my book which is due back, but as you can tell I'm not working, which seems to be the standard state of affairs. Maybe this is why I have so much work to do all the time? I guess being away every weekend isn't really helping taht much either, but I feel it's worth the cost. Who needs a degree anyway? It's only 3 years of my life and £xxxxx...
Anyway, somewhat more optimistically, I had an excellent weekend! I went to exeter, where I was horribly ill, but I had Dave to look after me, and we did some fun things too. Including bying beautiful shoes that look like they belong to an elf! They're so lovely! The good news is that I stopped taking the tablets the doctor had given to make me feel better, and I stopped being ill. So I'm going back to the doctors to complain next week. Hurray!
Well, all I've really been up to over the past week is work and feeling ill, so not much to up-date you on here. Except pointing out how horrible this colour is... So on that note I shall leave you. Wish me luck with the insane quantities of work I have to do with minimal motivation and limited time! It's certainly a challenge. But at least I'm happy and stressed, and there is an optimistic future to look forward to tremendously! xxx

The happiness fairy from happy-land

OK, it's been a while, but I've been pretty busy over the last month. Obviously, first there was Christmas (what wasn't great, but had some happy longer-term consequences, see below...), and then the New Year, which was pretty good (and better than I'd anticipated, because we were all together, which was awesomous maximus), and then it was the evening of January 2nd/morning of January 3rd, and Dave told me that he loved me in a text message, which made me so happy I can barely express it in words! No, I take it back, I am too happy to express in words! We then spent a week happily doing nothing, and I got my new phone, which was also cool.
But then we had to come back to uni, which sucked, especially as I was living on my own for a week. Fortunately I went to stay with Becky in Reading for a few days, and we did some hard-core shopping, which was brilliant. And I had a class on thursday so I wasn't bored then either, and I went to see Dave in Exeter on friday til monday! Hurray!
Unfortunately I have loads of work to do this term as it's my final year. But I don't seem to care about my degree any more, which probably isn't a good thing. I seem to be either visiting or being visited every week forever until I don't have to be at uni any more. Hurray to the power of two! This means that I have to work pretty much solidly during the week though, which is considerably less fun. But I'm too happy to care! I hope there aren't any laws limiting the number of exclamation marks in one entry, because if there are I've probably broken them...
Which brings us up to the future. I still have to finish my essay, but that shouldn't take too long. Then i have to decide whether I can be bothered to go to student group or not. Hmmm... At the moment I'm thinking I'm too lazy, but we'll see.
Anyway, that's pretty much all of my news, most of which you'll know already if you're the kind of person who reads this. Also, don't expect many entries in the future - trying to juggle (in a metaphorical sense alone) a boyfriend and the third year of a degree is hard enough without all the extra things I feel obliged to do occasionally. But know that my silence is a happy one (official understatement of the year!), and I wish the same happiness upon you, my lucky reader! xxx

Good mood

Just to appologise for being in a bad mood yesterday, if you'd noticed. I'm in a much better mood today, although it's only 10:11, so I have pleanty of time to swing. Especially as nothing seems to be happening this morning, so I'm going to do some work now. But at least there are some funny bits in my book. Like a school of medieval escatological thought called Muggletonism! How cool is that?! Unfortunately I don't think I'll be able to work that into my dissertation though... Ooh, and in other news, I now have holes in my ears! All the better to hear you with etc. And I saw Narnia last night, which was cool-for-cats. Especially Phillip. For lovers of Narnia worldwide, there is also the following: http://www.youtube.com/watch.php?v=zLElfJ9YCh0 which you've probably seen before, and if you haven't, it's time you begun. Erm, I guess thats it for now. If you want to go here http://shop.o2.co.uk/shop/o2uk/jsp/handset/SelectHandset.do?menu=y&ref=allphoneslink and tell me what upgrade to get, I'd thank you with some kind of Christmas gift. Otherwise, I'm off to read more about the roots of Joachimism! Score!

Finally!

At last I've mannaged to get a picture of me on my blog to prove that I have a face etc! Yesterday I visited my grandparents, which was super fun. But I did get to meet my cousin, which was cool (he has a roboraptor, it was very exciting!) and Sam came too, and I got to see his lip-ring (which looked a lot better on him than I expected). We also witnessed a drug-deal on the way home, and I didn't feel too good on account of eating too much, so I saw x-factor results and went to bed when we got back. Today we went to church, which was nice, and then we had roast beef! The excitement continues this afternoon as I have to clean out my fish and this evening we're going to the carrol serivive at church. I have a new policy this year of not constantly harrassing my friends to go out, as I have a shed-load of work to do. Consequently, I suspect this will be a very un-eventful christmas holiday as no one else is capable of initiating fun (a challenge, if any of you ever read this!), but I'll let you know how well I stick to that... Anyway, my fish becon (not litterally as captain Birdseye stole their fingers).

Books

It's the end of term! Hurray! I can finally have a day off, but not for a while, because I still have loads to do. On wednesday I recovered from my grrrrsomeness with alcohol and The Nightmare Before Christmas, which was awesome-super-splendid. Then on thursday I read for my presentation on the train, played with some genuine medieval documents for magic and medicine, which was fantastic, and I got quite excited. Then in the evening Hannah and Bob-bob the Bob abandoned me, so I went out with my cell and we watched the Dead Poets Society and ate too much and had mulled wine. Then I wrote my presentation in bed, which seemed ok, despite the odds. Today I went to the pub with my class and my tutors and started drinking before lunch. Unfortunately I left before anyone was drunk, but I did get some money from the university, 10 REALLY heavy books (which I still have to carry home. I shouldn't've worn boots today...) and some paper. Ooh, and this is the third day in a row I've forgotten to eat lunch! How amazing am I?! Ooh, and we're back onto purple! Well exciting! Anyway, this afternoon I have to tidy my room (which could take quite some time) and pack, which should keep my mind off the fact that I'll be all alone... And then tomorrow I'm going to see my grandparents. Hurray.

Stress

It's been an intense few days here. I'm so stressed that my knee's hurt, but also quite excited. My brain's confused and I'm all twitchy, and its not good. Being the last week of term, I have multiple christmas parties, but also evil deadlines, so my brain doesn't know whether to be happy or sad. On Monday, for example, I did a horrible evil essay all day, but then went out for Robyn's birthday which was fantastic! And then I was doing essay all morning yesterday, but I spent the whole afternoon getting ready to go out, and the CT christmas social was fantastic! I ate so much I nearly died, but then They played Bon Jovi for me, so we had to dance lots. I got home quite early, at about 1.30, but then I couldn't sleep til at least 3.30 (on account of coffee, hormones and the giant hoover) and I weirdly woke up at 7.30, which wasn't nice. Then I had to do the bibliography and references for my essay, and it all went horribly wrong from there. I don't want to think about it any more, but events included my printer not working, my disc corrupting, having to run back home to make another copy, and run back before the deadline. Unfortunately I still have to so my presentation on friday, even though the article I need doesn't exist, so i can't even relax now. I think I need a lot of alcohol... Anyway, I'm sure you don't care about that. I'm going to go and hit my head against a brick wall now. Roll on Christmas!

Short

Today we read the following in our class on the Second Crusade:
"William Viel, yet breathing out threatenings and piratical slaughter, and his brother Ralph and almost all the men of Southampton and Hastings..." Since friday, the internet has been out of action, so no msn (nooooooooooo!), but fortunately i was busy doing work (supposedly) for my essay the whole time anyway. I've now written said essay, and it took me a lot longer that it should've, concluding (finally) at c.1am this morning. Hurray! Other exciting things this week include shopping yesterday (I got a sparkley hand bag and the best sandwich in the world again), Student Group (the last one EVER!!! Noooooooooo!), and my laundry. As you can doubtless tell, it's been a whirlwind rollercoster of thrills and spills. And sarcasm. Actually, the paper told me at the weekend that there are multiple (possibly 5?) different tones for sarcasm in Japanese. The perfect language! And so on that note I must draw this entry to a close. If you've been as bored by my week as me, please write to tell me! I can reply between reading books on the history of religion... xxx

Ill

I correct myself, these are the REALLY manky colours. But fortunately this is apporopriate, as I'm currently ill. Now when was the last time I posted..? Loads of stuff should've happened since my last entry. Im not sure what, though. I don't think I did anything productive at the weekend, which was silly of me. Then on monday I WENT TO FAITHLESS!!! Which was AMAZING!!! The best thing since sliced bread/condoms. I can't believe it was only 2 hours, I feel like I've been cheated out of 90 min of my life, but it was definitely worth it. Plus my leg warmers were amazing (untill they got all muddy. I've washed them not, though) and I got to see Fern and her crew. Unfortunately it was cold and I wasn't wearing very much. Then we went to Tesco. Then I went home, which was super weird, but I couldn't sleep because my fish were too loud and my room was cold and my bed smelt of cigarrettes. Bleurgh! Then I saw my parents very briefly, but they didnt like my legwarmers or my beautiful shoes, which just proves that parent's oppinions don't count. Grrr... Ooh, this is actually a really nice colour! It's a shame I'm about to change it... Anyway, I bought officially the world's best sandwich on the way back (Marks and Spencer's Christmas sandwich with turkey, bacon and stuffing. Expencive, but worth every penny. Has to be tasted to be believed!) But unfortunately after I got back from student group on tuesday evening I felt ill, and on wednesday morning I was ill, and I've been recovering since. Hopefully the sandwich wasn't to blame, because I feel an addiction coming on, and I can't afford to give up work for 2 days everytime I eat a sandwich. And so I've been incapacitated for the last few days, unable to work, get to London or, alas, blog. But not I'm back, and the colours are getting progressively worse. I have a feeling they'll improve next time though. Ooh, I just got an email from my tutor summoning me. I'll call it a day for the time being, but I shall be back. Stay un-ill (it does NOT get my seal of approval). xxx

Manky colours

Just a quick one today, as I have nothing to write about and the colours are super manky. It's very cold in Egham, and I lost my gloves which aren't broken, which is sad. But I do have a supervisor, and a secondary supervisor, for my research essay now! And my essays going to be on camparing the ideal of the wilderness in the East in the early Middle Ages to the wilderness in Europe, if anyone has any thoughts on that. But I doubt you will... I also got a really funny email from my tutor, which caused me to lol in a literal sense in the library, which was embarassing. But only a little bit. I also celibrated extended opening hours by leaving the pub early and doing a crossword. Apparently it was -5 outside as I walked home, which wasn't fun. And we still don't have snow, which I'm convinced is for the best. Ooh, this colour is invisible! Is that better? Marginally, I guess that'll do. Erm, what else..? Ooh, my class was cancelled today, so I'm going to dredge through my notes from the first two years to plan my essay. And I have some hard-core filing to do too. But otherwise I have no plans til monday. Hurray! Essays! Well, rather than drawing this out any longer I'll wrap it up. And wish that I could post pictures, but that'll have to wait til another day... xxx

Purple furry legs

Well, its been quite a while since I've had time to bog it up, as they (i.e. I) say, but I finally made it! I actually can't remember everything thats happened since the last post, and no one cares because no one reads this anyway, but maybe in the future blogs will be used as a source for history students about the daily lifes of people in the 21st century, and I intend to confuse those people as much as possible by writing utter nonsence and spelling it badly too. On that note, here's what I can remember from the last week and a bit... Well, I got my 1st essay of the year back, and I did rather well, thanks to my tutor being lovely. I also sorted my dissertation title, and I'm doing apocalyptic thought in crusade literature, which sounds super exciting (and sarcasm-free!). Additionally, I went to exeter for the weekend and did some drinking, lots of eating (including icecreams outside in the winter! Hardcore!) and we saw 'Curse of the Were-Rabbit' which was cool, but less cool than 'Corpse Bride' (no Johnny Depp, no Tim Burton...) Ooh, and the week before was amazingly exciting (it all comes flooding back to me) because I went shopping! And I got some purple furry material which has become purple furry leg warmers since then, and a ball dress! I was so excited I couldn't do any work that week, and I didnt care! But since then I have grown to care, as I realised just how much work I have to do... Ahhhrrgggghhh! But I'll be fine. I just wont have time to shop as much as I have been recently, which is probably all for the best. Erm, what else has there been? Ooh, I'm going to see Faithless next week, provided the tickets come. Dave worried me by saying they're getting delivered here, and we've been having some serious post issues recently, but I'm sure that'll turn out ok too. And our house is currently on a building site and vibrates, which is certainly a novel feature. Also we can't afford to heat it 24/7, and we don't have double glazing, so we're all going to die of pneumonia. Hurray! Or terrorists, either way it's all good. Well, I'm pretty sure there's loads more to say, but who cares?! If anyone ever reads this, leave me some nice spam and I'll delete it right away.
xxx

Good bye

This is a just-in-case post. Apparently Royal Holloway is going to be destroyed by a random terrorist attack (a friend of a friend of a friend is an explosives fanatic) so I may not be with you much longer. This post is here so you can't say I didn't warn you, and if I do die you can feel really bad that you didn't come and save me... No, I really just wanted to scare you. Although if the rumour does turn out to be true, it's been exellent blogging with you, and I wish you well in your futures, whatever they may involve. My poor little fingers... In an attempt to keep them from freezing solid I'll wiggle them as I type [wiggles fingers]. There you go! Well, Appart from nearly dying of cold, it's been a very exciting weekend. On friday I discovered that my blood's A+, just incase you'd like some. I also sorted my phone out singlehandedly, as no one was willing or able to help (sucky friends). Then in the evening Bob and I braved the iguana, which was actually really cool, so we'll be going back some time. If we aren't to preoccupied with work etc... Ooh, and I was drunk after four *single* vodka and cranberry juices! Being a lightweight is an amazing bargain!!! Then on saturday I met Becky on a train and we went to London. In Camden, Becky was scared of Cyber Dog and the people, but we bought many exciting things, including the most beautiful shoes in the world, but not furry leg-warmers. But I'm ashamed to say I have been obsessing about them since, and I plan to make some myself as soon as I have the opertunity. Ooh, now I'm all excited!!! But anyway, then we went for coffee, to the Imperial War Museum where we saw a pigeon parachute, and for all-you-can-eat (i.e. not very much any more) dinner. And on Sunday I went to church a couple of times and still didn't do any work. Silly me. Ooh, but I did do a bibliography for my dissertation now, by copying it from a book I was reading (ummm). So all good. Other than that I don't have any news at all. Also, I don't have time to blog this week, as I have an essay to read for and I'm away over the weekend, but expect an update this time next week. Well, til then take care. And don't freeze, as I fear I might. Brrrrrrr...

The End

Excellent news, one and all! Yesterday I had my LAST EVER LECTURE!!! EVER!!! Even if I do a Masters, I still don't have lectures for that, so I'll never have to take notes while someone else rambles on ever again! What excellent news! Additonally, I saw Corpse Bride on wednesday. 'Twas super fantastic! (Note enthusiasm. I'm in a surprisingly good mood today.) Never has a plasticine figure been so desirable... No, seriously, if everyone was as gaunt and thin as Victor I'd be a happy person. Which is maybe a tad sad. Ooh, that rhymes! Erm... Ooh, today I got my exam paper for my so-called 'takeaway exam' (if it sounds like a load of rubbish to you, thats because it is...) I have narrowed the essay I shall be writing down to one of the following:
1. How illusory is the distinction between elite and popular religion?
2. Have historians tended to over-emphasise religious change at the expense of continuity?
Sounds fun, doesn't it? Well, maybe not... But if you have any thoughts on these or other helpful subjects, be sure to let me know! Which leads me on to the subject of work, and how much I have of it... Well, my theory was that the less stressed out I am about work, the better I'll do this year. However, this means that I'm just not doing any at all, as my deadlines as so far away, yet gradually creeping up on me, thereby increasing my stress greatly. So far this week I have to create a bibliography for my dissertation (once I've chosen a subject...) before friday, done all my reading for, and hopefully written my first assessed essay of the year, and done the reading for both of my classes. Additionally, I need to come up with a title and bibliography for my reasearch essay, and I'm supposedly looking at jobs and Masters for next year at the same time. It's like the university doesn't want us to have a social life or something! But the good news is that I'm going to Camden to buy some shoes tomorrow, which will be amazing. Both the shoes and the shopping, that is. Also I get to see Becky, which should be nice, as long as she isn't too crazy ;-) Other than that, there is no news. Except that o2 sucks. Never ever ever trust an online phone company. Especially if you're cursed... But in general life is good, and so ends my rant. Hope my very small ('elite') readership is all well.

Post the first!

Check this out! I have a blog now! One day I'll even tell some people about it so that it'll have a purpose, but until then, it's a complete waste of my precious, precious time... But the good news it that I dont really have anything to talk about, so at least the posts will be short. Ooh, and I have a lecture in 24 minutes, so I'd better make this quick. Ooh, and I dont have any way of putting pictures on this computer, but hopefully I'll have a new phone/camera soon, and then maybe even a usb stick. Who knows...? But until then, let me tell you about Jareth's exciting adventures in Surrey this week... Well, the highlight so far actually took place in Berkshire, which isn't in Surrey (on account of being a county of its very own) when we went on a clubbing expedition to Reading and I laughed a lot at some guys and had a glass of alcoholic cream. And there was a cat in my bed. I also saw Becky (hello Becky, if you're reading this!) and Richard, who wasn't nearly as scary as promised. Yesterday I went on annother exciting expedition, but this time to Woking (that might be in Berkshire too, but I'm not too sure), where we partook of the bowling. We were going to go to Feltham, but Egham Hill went insane, so we couldn't. Ooh, these colours are very pale. Wait a sec... Hmm, thats a bit better. Anyway, I came joint first with 130 in the first game by being in the cheaty bumper lane, and then.... well, I didn't do *quite* as well when the bumpers were gone, but it was super fun anyway. And today will be brilliant too, because we're going to see the corpse bride! Unfortunately all of this fun means I dont have time to do all the millions of works I have, but hey! Ooh, this is a lot longer than I thought it'd be. Go me! But now I have 15 min before my lecture, so maybe I ought to work out what else these so-called 'blogs' do... Posts may appear again in the future, but don't hold your breath. You have been warned.
xxx
